But the game had some issues most of which were related to the Multiplayer section of the game. The devs are trying to fix it with each update. Now, the fans will be getting another Call of Duty this year as it was confirmed by Activision Blizzard. But the studio that will be working on it hasn’t been announced yet but the company stated that this upcoming installment won’t be selling as well as last year’s Modern Warfare did during its launch window. Furthermore, there aren’t any details on which platform will it be available on which leaves the question will it be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X. During this week’s earnings call, the company talk about Modern Warfare’s success, also celebrating the game’s “double-digit percentage” increase over 2018’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. They didn’t provide any specific numbers about Modern Warfare’s success. Activision said this year’s “premium Call of Duty” title, which is expected to arrive sometime between 1 October to 31 December won’t be performing that well when compared to the 2019’s Modern Warfare. Modern Warfare is a very successful game that has generated $1 billion in revenue worldwide, players spent more than 500 million hours in multiplayer, and nearly 300 million matches have been played. This just shows how popular this franchise really is. This game was the best selling game in the US and 2019’s best-selling game in the US. The game is going strong to this day and its first season is going on which now has been extended to 11 February. The reason behind the extension was explained by Infinity Ward for new activities and rewards. They even said it will be a one-time thing. All the people have high expectations from the upcoming Call of Duty, hopefully, the developers will be able to make an amazing game that the fans deserve.
